A singer-songwriter from Northampton via New Jersey, Chris Scanlon has been a musician and performer for over 25 years. He’s played venues such as the Iron Horse and festivals like Falcon Ridge, Upper Valley Music Festival and WordXWord, and was a three time nominee in the WRSI 95.3 The River singer-songwriter contest. The Valley Advocate says that "(Chris Scanlon) has long-since established himself as one of the area's great homegrown talents."
Scanlon performs solo and with his all star band The Other Guys, featuring members of the Carrie Ferguson Band, the Doomsday Ladies and the frost heaves. His debut album “u-turn” on Plaid Jacket Records is a valentine to his youth in the Garden State. Scanlon recently presented a paper about Bruce Springsteen's Darkness on the Edge of Town album at an international symposium hosted at Monmouth University, home of the The Bruce Springsteen Archives and Center for American Music. His next project, tentatively titled "Shadows They Left Here", will feature songs about hope and heartbreak set in the borough of Brooklyn NYC both then and now.
